Andrew P. Nguyen founded APN Energy Consultants in 2015.

Mr. Nguyen brings over 10 years of engineering and oil and gas operations management experience to APN Energy Consultants where he previously managed all Operations, Engineering, Exploitation, Exploration, Land, and Regulatory departments in several privately held and private equity backed oil and gas companies.

Mr. Nguyen has worked in a number of oil and gas producing regions including the Permian Basin and Levelland-Slaughter Field in Texas, the Delaware Basin in New Mexico, the Overthrust Belt in Wyoming, and the shelf and deep-water Gulf of Mexico. His technical projects encompass the entire oil and gas development cycle including drilling, completions, production engineering, reservoir engineering, secondary and tertiary recovery, and conventional vertical and horizontal unconventional development.

Mr. Nguyen attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2005, and is completing a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering with a focus on Reservoir Management in 2016. Mr. Nguyen is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (#107598) and is an Eagle Scout.

Robert B. Smith has been involved in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years. He is a founding partner of several closely held oil and gas companies including Rock Springs Oil Co., Rock Springs Minerals, and Pace Petroleum, and through these companies has managed and participated in over 150 oil and gas projects. Recently, Mr. Smith has been an active investor acquiring minerals in the southern Alabama Smackover play. 

In addition to his management of oil and gas assets, Mr. Smith has been a lawyer in private practice in Dallas since 1992.  Mr. Smith has focused his practice on business law, representing clients in the oil and gas, finance, and non-profit industries. 

Mr. Smith is also active in many civic and charitable organizations in the Dallas community and currently serves on the boards of several leading Dallas nonprofit companies. In 2012 he served as Tournament Chairman for the PGA TOUR's HP Byron Nelson Championship that raised over $5.3 million for charity.  Mr. Smith received his BBA in Finance from Baylor University and his JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Thomas M. Echols Jr. has over 20 years of fundraising, investment, and management experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Echols was a founding partner in Pace Petroleum, Rock Springs Energy, Rock Springs Oil Company, and Rock Springs Minerals, and has successfully invested or managed oil and gas projects in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Mr. Echols has also successfully raised funds for several oilfield service companies.

In addition to his activities in the energy industry, Mr. Echols has over 25 years of experience in a number of diverse fields where he successfully founded a statewide real estate consulting and valuation firm, a statewide construction and development firm, and with a multi-million dollar private equity raise, founded a technology firm.

Mr. Echols is active in many civic and charitable organizations in Dallas- Ft. Worth area, and currently serves on the board of directors of several nonprofit organizations including the Highland Park Sports Club and the Rise School of Dallas. Mr. Echols holds a BBA in Finance from Baylor University where he was a two sport scholarship athlete.
